Air Fried French Fries
![]() |
Ingredients:
· 4 large russet potatoes
· 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
· 1 teaspoon salt
· 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
· 1/2 teaspoon paprika
· Optional: Ketchup, mayonnaise, or your preferred dipping sauce
Instructions:
v Start by preheating your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
v While the air fryer is preheating, wash the potatoes thoroughly and pat them dry with a kitchen towel.
v Cut the potatoes into long, thin strips, resembling French fries. You can leave the skin on or peel them, depending on your preference.
v Place the cut potatoes in a large bowl of cold water and let them soak for about 20 minutes. This step helps remove excess starch and promotes crispiness.
v After the soaking time, drain the potatoes and pat them dry with a kitchen towel to remove any remaining moisture.
v In a separate bowl, combine the vegetable oil, salt, garlic powder, and paprika. Mix well.
v Add the dried potatoes to the bowl with the oil and seasoning mixture. Toss the potatoes until they are evenly coated.
v Once the air fryer is preheated, place the coated potato strips in the air fryer basket in a single layer. It's essential not to overcrowd the basket to ensure even cooking and crispiness.
v Cook the French fries in the air fryer at 400°F (200°C) for approximately 20 to 25 minutes, shaking or flipping them halfway through the cooking time. Adjust the cooking time depending on how crispy you prefer your fries.
v Once the French fries are golden brown and crispy, remove them from the air fryer and transfer them to a serving dish lined with paper towels. This helps absorb any excess oil.
v Sprinkle the freshly cooked French fries with a little extra salt, if desired.
v Serve the air-fried French fries immediately with your preferred dipping sauce, such as ketchup, mayonnaise, or any other condiment of your choice.
v Enjoy your delicious homemade air-fried French fries! They're a healthier alternative to deep-fried fries and just as tasty.
